[16 Apr 2007|07:07pm] |
I just wanted to say that I am ok. Please keep the victims and the families of Virginia Tech in your prayers and thoughts.
At this time, I especially want to pray for Ryan Clark; you will be missed.

Well, since my baby's down, I'll update here. Here is what happens when I have WAY too much free time at 1:30 in the morning. This was to Carina... YAY!
Boondock Rocco (1:30:12 AM): well I'm gonna go look at a wall Boondock Rocco (1:30:16 AM): and tell YOU a story Boondock Rocco (1:30:22 AM): because I have amazing stories Boondock Rocco (1:30:25 AM): of such amazingnes Boondock Rocco (1:30:31 AM): that amazing is a subword Boondock Rocco (1:30:34 AM): that's right, a SUBword Boondock Rocco (1:30:39 AM): speaking of subs Boondock Rocco (1:30:48 AM): there was a squirrel once I knew Boondock Rocco (1:31:11 AM): he was the captain of a submarine called the "Acorn" Boondock Rocco (1:31:31 AM): "Jenkins!" said Squirrel, "WHERE ARE YOU?!" Boondock Rocco (1:31:48 AM): "Right here sir, I've been right next to you for the past two hours," said Jenkins the moose Boondock Rocco (1:32:09 AM): "Oh, uh, right," stumbled Squirrel, "what are our coordinates?" Boondock Rocco (1:32:22 AM): "Well, sir, we seem to be lodged inside of a whale" Boondock Rocco (1:32:45 AM): "A WHALE?!" yelled Squirrel, "...for the love of God tell me it's not a baluga whale" Boondock Rocco (1:33:16 AM): "Well, sir," stuttered Jenkins nervously, "we haven't gotten Bob back from submersive exploration, but our best estimates fear the worst: yes, it is a baluga whale." Boondock Rocco (1:33:31 AM): "God help us all," prayed Squirrel. Boondock Rocco (1:33:49 AM): "Sir, if I might have a word" said Frank, the 1st driver. Boondock Rocco (1:33:53 AM): "Go ahead sailor" Boondock Rocco (1:34:32 AM): "Well, if we simply shot our nuclear missle onboard at the whale's jaw, we could lodge it into the brille, and upon an explosion we could float out." Boondock Rocco (1:35:18 AM): "But SIR" interrupted Jenkins, "an explosion of that magnitude would destroy the ship, and everything within 100 square miles! Not to mention the radiation would be immense. There's a REASON that nuclear missle is only meant to be used on our worst enemies." Boondock Rocco (1:35:47 AM): "I realize that Jenkins, but we have no other choice. LOAD THE TORPEDOS!" Shouted the Captain Boondock Rocco (1:36:14 AM): "Load the torpedos! Load the torpedos... Loading torpedos sir!" stammered over the intercom Boondock Rocco (1:36:27 AM): "Down periscope!" shouted the Captain Boondock Rocco (1:36:55 AM): As the captain lined up the front and back coordinates for the nuclear torpedo, Jenkins started to pray. Boondock Rocco (1:37:17 AM): "On my count..." said the captain. Boondock Rocco (1:37:19 AM): "3..." Boondock Rocco (1:37:21 AM): "2..." Boondock Rocco (1:37:23 AM): "1..." Boondock Rocco (1:37:25 AM): "1/2..." Boondock Rocco (1:37:31 AM): "CAPTAIN!" Said Frank Boondock Rocco (1:37:41 AM): "Er, yes, right, FIRE!" shouted the captain Boondock Rocco (1:38:12 AM): The nuclear torpedo left the tube, leaving a trail of glowing bubbles behind it like a signature of death. Boondock Rocco (1:38:45 AM): With a sickening thud, it hit the braile of the whale, as a loud, ear-piercing scream came from the baluga's belly. Boondock Rocco (1:39:02 AM): Once again, the captain slowly counted: Boondock Rocco (1:39:05 AM): "3..." Boondock Rocco (1:39:06 AM): "2..." Boondock Rocco (1:39:08 AM): "1..." Boondock Rocco (1:39:43 AM): Within seconds, everything in a 100 mile radius, including the whale, the ship, and the school of fish passing by 99.9 miles away, was vaporized instantly Boondock Rocco (1:40:09 AM): on the way to purgatory, Jenkins and Frank and Squirrel passed each other Boondock Rocco (1:40:51 AM): "Oh by the way," said Frank, "I had another idea beforehand that I had forgotten. You know those giant plyers we had on board...?" Boondock Rocco (1:40:53 AM): THE END Boondock Rocco (1:41:49 AM): you'll laugh Boondock Rocco (1:41:51 AM): you'll cry Boondock Rocco (1:41:53 AM): it's amazing Boondock Rocco (1:42:01 AM): they'll make a movie out of it

I'm updating my LJ... again? As much as I love my Writer's Rock I'm still going to update here as well.
And you can say nothing _sacchi, you update here more often too ;)
Galen already setup a facebook party for our theoretical apartment next year. Now THAT's amusing.
I need to start getting to bed around 12 or 1 each night, not leaving someone's place around 12 or 1. I haven't gotten behind in work yet, though, so so far so good.
Single's awareness day coming up soon, ...hurray. =P
And on that note, I'm hungry, so I'm going to go sleep. (?) Nite all =)

Hey all!
Ready for my bi-annual update? :D
c'mon they're not that bad.
Anyway, lets see. Sophomore year of college. YAY. Actually this semester is great, last semester kinda blew. Stoopid sleeping disorders. It's ok now though because I'm back on track and doing well :)
This semester is filled with easy classes. I hope. I should do well, but we'll see. As of now I still have straight A's :)
Me, Galen and Zach are all heading down to check out Foxridge apartments later today so we can live off campus next year. It will be SO freaking nice to have my own place, my own room, my own KITCHEN. My GOD I can cook. And party :)
We have lots of plans for the apartment, but it's a ways off. I just need to finish up this semester and get home for summer!
Let's see what else has happened. Christmas break I started rock climbing on a regular basis. They don't have a rock wall here so I climb on the school's building walls. Awesomenessitude :)
I've added another site to my aresenal: http://www.avoidthebox.com/ I don't really do anything on it though, just something a few of my friends write funny stories on.
Am I forgetting anything anyone?

True Story: a religion teacher assigned her class an essay on what makes a good Christian. One student wrote about praying nightly, say no to abortion, banning gay marriage, and donating money. The other student wrote about talking to God and allowing people to enjoy their lives, and supporting gay marriage. The day the teacher was to hand the papers back, she called up the second student and told him she would pray for him when he went to hell. The student asked why would he be going to hell, and why he got an F on his paper. The teacher told him that Catholicism is against gay marriage. The student looked at her for a minute, then said aloud, "I'm gay." The teacher kicked him out of class as if he had said "fuck" or worshiped Satan. A girl in the back of class who had a boyfriend and was obviously straight got up and left, too.
If you would leave the classroom, re-post this. It doesn't matter if you're straight, bi, or gay. It doesn't matter if you're Catholic or not. Everyone is a human being and deserves happiness.

Writer's Rock is Officially Open in Beta (Which means all of you need to go there and make a journal, haha)
http://www.writersrock.com/
It's a very solid beta, just have a lot of documentation left to do. Also, the site supports OpenID (brand spankin new, check the news page there if you want to know what it is) so you can login to LJ/WR with your other account and leave comments, view friends only pages, etc.
Tell your friends. Want to know a good reason for joining? My Extended Account program.
Extended Accounts ANYONE I know gets an extended account, whether you think I wouldn't remember you or you haven't talked to me in ages I don't care. What is an extended account? It's a paid account on LiveJournal... but you don't have to pay for it. Also, you get more icons than LJ offers. That's right 15 usericons baby.
You also get the use of polls, styles, etc... everything you can't do with a free account here. FOR FREE!
But that's not the best part! I know all of you have lots of friends that I don't know that you would want to come over... so I'm offering the FOAF Extended Journal for a while! That means if you give me the usernames of anyone that signs up that YOU know (and I know you personally) I will upgrade their account from a free account to an Extended Account for FREE.
Do they expire? Never! You get a permanent paid account for free, just for moving over. And since you can use OpenID to log in to LJ still, you can keep track of those stubborn users that don't want to change journals.
---
Also, in the future, I will have a journal importer. That means you can take the files generated from the export tool here at LJ or any other site and use them to restore all of your old entries over at Writer's Rock. That's soon to come!
---
Excited yet? I sure am. Come on over... there's even more left to do that I haven't even setup yet, and you get to put your hand in all of it for free!

Before you say the three words, you have to think to yourself:
"Am I saying 'I love you' because I do, or am I saying 'I love you' so I can hear it back?"
...who usually says "I love you" first when you hang up the phone? It was just a random thought I had today.

GRR
Alright so I registered the domain name http://www.writersrock.com/ and set my IP to it.
Problem - I have DSL on a Dynamic DNS (Meaning my IP address changes occasionally)
Other Problem - It takes up to 72 hours for the DNS to kick in and change my IP so that http://www.writersrock.com/ will point to it
----
So in other words, I come home from work today to find.. YAY the nameservers changed my IP. Site didn't work. BOO the IP changed while I was at work too. GDit
I wish there was a way to get the IP change out to ISPs faster cause I'm in a bind till I get to college and have a static IP address.

[30 Jun 2005|10:58pm] |
So I took a break from writing to set up a new website.
Setting up a livejournal-clone that will give all my friends basically paid features for free! It's fun like that. And with Open-ID.. all your friends from LJ will still be able to post comments.
I'm buying the domain tomorrow and hope to have the setup done in a few days. The style looks wonderful in firefox... but in internet explorer it goes all kinds of bad (stupid microsoft).
Anywho, I'll post more info when I have more stuff set up. For now, here's the different kind of users:
Free Account If I don't know you this is where you live. Same as LJ free user in every way.
Extended Account Congrats! I know you! You get 15 icons, polls, etc, etc... everything LJ offers its paid users and more :)
Partner Account You get one of these if you do something to help the development of the site. You get 50 icons and even more features than the Extended account. However, they expire once your time runs out. For example:
Writing a usable FAQ: 1 week per faq Making a set of mood icons: 1 month per set Every 20 points in support: 1 week per 20 (of real answers)
There's lots of other stuff available. Basically if you have an idea for the site and act on it... you'll get reimbursed for it :D
